A medium sized coastal barge with approximately 500,000L Fuel Storage & 350T freight capacity will transport our petroleum products and general cargo around Bougainville and to surrounding atoll regions.

 

This service will give Husk Oil Pty Ltd the ability to transport our petroleum products while offering a cost effective general cargo and limited passenger service to the all coastal regions and atolls in the Bougainville region.

It is proposed that this service operates on a two week cycle and will be based in Loloho.

Week 1;

Loloho, Buin, Kieta, Wakunai, Tinputz, North Buka, Buka Town & Loloho.

During this roster (1 day) the Barge will offer a Passage Crossing Service for large freight including heavy machinery and motor vehicles form mainland Bougainville to Buka Island and return.

Week 2;

Loloho, Buka Town, Nissan Island, Han Island, Mortlock Island,  Buka Town & Loloho

Trucking

 

A fleet of 4 Fuel Body trucks (Rigid) will  transport and distribute our petroleum products to the local licensee fuel retail outlets (not generally reachable by sea).

 

All vehicles are 8 wheeler type twin steer with PTO pumping equipment and digital metering systems. The fuel barrels are generally in a 4 compartment configuration with minimum 4800 litre compartments that will enable safe mixed loading. When additional volume is required to cater for increasing local supply, a fleet of “dog trailers” will be used to increase transportable volumes.

 

These vehicles will be located at strategic locations throughout Bougainville to allow for maximum coverage and supply capability.
